How To Screen Print Heat Transfers

Blog Post Image

Here’s a quick tip, recently published in Printwear, from Chris Pluck on how best to print heat transfers:

Use 100 percent fluorescent inks (red and yellow) to make the transfer-process inks look more vibrant and “pop” with color. Or, blend these fluorescents 50/50 with standard process ink to enhance process-color brightness and vibrancy.

To enhance the stretch and durability for screen printed transfers that will apply to garments, add 15 percent (by weight) of a small-adhesive particle powder to the ink. Mix completely into the transfer ink and print through an 86 threads-per-inch screen mesh.
